5 Cars You Have To Drive Before You Die
Please appreciate that this is only 5 cars, and of course there are many hundreds more which we love. But these are the current cars we have narrowed it down to which we think would be a laugh to throw round some country roads (this may be a tight squeeze in the first one!).
LAMBORGHINI AVENTADOR SV
This really appeals to me because I have heard that the single clutch gearbox in this is absolutely brutal when you get it up to speed. The shifts really throw you back in your seat and that just sounds awesome. This is by far the most expensive car on the list at well over £300k but it’s just the ultimate Aventador (I prefer it over the SVJ).
PORSCHE 911 CARRERA GTS (MANUAL)
This is yet another car which I have heard a lot about. It was a toss up between this and the Carrera T but I feel the GTS is very underappreciated when put next to a Carrera T and they are very similar cars. The GTS is just a little heavier and has a few more luxuries. There is also the 911 R to consider but considering I’ve never seen one in person means it’s less likely I would get a chance to try one.
FORD FOCUS RS
Unlike the Porsche, this is a car I have had the privilege of spending some time close to (I’ve done a review on one – make sure to check that out). This is meant to be the best manual hot hatch right? This is why I think it must be the perfect car to shoot round some tight B roads in. Despite this being one of the more affordable cars on this list, it’s still a fantastic little car.
FERRARI 308 GTS
Could this be the best Ferrari of all time? I think it definitely could be. This is the iconic car from Magnum PI (that one was a convertible). Ever since I saw an episode of that when I was younger, It has been a car I have always wanted to experience. The dream would be to drive one of these along the Stelvio pass in Italy. I think that’s when this car would really come into its own.
1965 AUSTIN MINI COOPER
Now I know what you’re thinking, the Mr. Bean car… But this is a car I have wanted to own for years and years. It’s such an iconic British car and they are so capable little machines. I know they may not be the most pleasant car to drive but it’s the level of involvement you have at such a good price. No, it’s not particularly quick, and no, it isn’t comfortable, but it’s the rawness and personality that these cars have which make them so appealing to me. I will own one of these one day!
